Getting started
What does Laccino Digital do?
Laccino Digital is a technology company delivering websites, software, SaaS, CRM and client portals, AI agents and calling systems, automation, integrations and ongoing technology support. One team can take the work from strategy and design through development, deployment and operation.
Who do you work with?
Businesses, startups, NGOs and nonprofits, ministries and missions, and creatives and production teams. What they share is a real problem that technology should help solve.
Do you work with clients outside Zambia?
Yes. We work online with organisations across Africa and around the world, and keep everything clear in writing.
How do we start?
Send a few lines through the contact form, or email hello@laccinodigital.com. It helps to tell us what problem you are trying to solve, who will use the result, and any deadline, budget range or constraint we should know. We reply with a clear next step, usually a half-hour call. No deck. If we are not right for the work, we will say so.
Does getting in touch commit us to anything?
No. An enquiry does not create a client relationship. Any project is defined by a separate written scope and agreement that sets out the deliverables, timeline, price, ownership and support before work begins.
Process and timelines
How does a project run?
Every project follows the same five steps. Discover: learn your goals and what is in the way. Define: agree what we will build and how, in writing. Design: plan how it looks and works. Build: make it reliable and ready to grow. Launch and improve: go live, see what works and keep improving.
How long does a project take?
It depends on what we are building, so there is no single answer. We give you the timeline in writing, with the price, before any work starts. What makes projects longer is usually linking other tools, moving old data, security rules, and launching to many people.
Do you build everything at once?
Usually not. We help you identify the most important first version, so your team can put it in front of real users, learn and improve, instead of paying for every possible feature up front.
What do you need from us?
A clear picture of the problem, access to the people who will use the result, and decisions when they are needed.
Pricing and payment
Where do prices start?
Projects start from $1,500 for a website, with the final price set after discovery. Website care plans start from $125 a month and development retainers from $450 a month. Digital Partner, where we act as your technology team, starts from $1,250 a month. The pricing page explains what each includes.
What changes the price?
Mainly: linking other tools, moving old data, security rules, and how many people it launches to. We explain these in writing before work starts.
Why are projects priced by the job?
A fixed project price gives you a clear budget, and makes us responsible for finishing the agreed work well. Monthly care plans and development retainers are the exception: they reserve a set amount of our time each month.
What happens if the scope changes?
We check it against what we agreed. If it changes the result, timeline or cost, we send you a written quote for the change before doing it.
Do you take on small pieces of work?
Yes, where the work is a good fit. If a specialist freelancer or another provider would be better value, we will say so.
How does payment work?
Projects are usually paid 50% upfront and 50% before final handover; larger software and AI projects can use 40/30/30 or milestone payments. Care plans and retainers are paid in advance, before the service month begins. Prices exclude VAT unless the quote says otherwise, and quotes are valid for 30 days.
Who owns what we build?
Your agreement says clearly who owns what. We set up your code, domain names and main accounts in your name wherever we can.
Can we move between levels?
Yes. We can change your care plan or retainer as your needs change, with the notice period set in your agreement. Your retainer agreement sets the monthly priorities and how time is tracked, and unused hours do not roll over unless it says so.
Is maintenance included in the project price?
Only if your quote says so. Normally the build and ongoing maintenance are priced separately. After handover we recommend the care level that suits the actual site or system.
Do we have to pay for maintenance every month?
Not necessarily. A simple site that rarely changes may need little or no regular maintenance, or just ad-hoc support. A site that is updated often may suit Growth, a business-critical or integration-heavy one Scale, and an active product roadmap a development retainer or Digital Partner.
Are hosting, licences and usage costs included?
No, unless your quote includes them. Hosting, domains, paid plugins and licences, cloud services, AI model use, call minutes and messaging fees are billed at what the provider charges.
Can you work to a tight deadline?
Often, yes. Rush work can carry a 25% to 50% surcharge depending on the deadline and our capacity, and we confirm it in writing before we start.
What is the difference between care, a retainer and Digital Partner?
Website care keeps an existing site secure, updated, monitored and reliable, with a small amount of support each month. A development retainer reserves 10, 20 or 40 hours of engineering a month for improvements, integrations and product work. Digital Partner makes us your ongoing technology team across a broader roadmap, scoped in a monthly Statement of Work.
Ownership and support
Will domains, hosting and email be in our name?
Yes. Your hosting, domain names, security certificate and email are always registered in your name. Your accounts and data belong to you.
What happens after launch?
Every project includes a written handover and 30 days of support after launch. After that, maintenance is priced separately and sized to your site or system: from a care plan at $125 a month, to a development retainer, to no regular plan for a simple site that rarely changes.
Will our team understand what you built?
Yes, that is part of the job. We explain things clearly, write down how the important parts work, and train your team where needed.
How do you handle security and our data?
We think about security, reliability, cost and upkeep before we recommend any tool. How we handle your project data is set out in your signed agreement. How we handle what you send through this website is in the privacy policy.
Services and technology
What services does Laccino Digital provide?
We work across eight connected areas: Digital Experiences; Software and Applications; Business Systems; AI and Intelligent Systems; Voice and Omnichannel AI; Automation and Integrations; Strategy and Consulting; and Managed Technology. We can deliver one focused project or connect several of these areas as one system.
Do you build web applications, mobile apps, custom software and SaaS products?
Yes. We build web and mobile applications, custom business software, SaaS products, MVPs and platforms. That can include accounts, subscriptions, billing, dashboards, APIs, notifications, cloud infrastructure and third-party integrations.
Can you build a CRM, client portal or internal business system?
Yes. We build and configure CRM systems, client and account portals, staff dashboards, booking and case-management systems, approval workflows and reporting tools. We start with the way your team works, then design the system around it.
Do you build AI call agents and omnichannel agents?
Yes. We build inbound and outbound AI call agents for enquiries, support, qualification, booking and follow-up. We can connect voice with website chat, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, SMS, CRM records, bookings, human handoff and reporting.
What can you automate and integrate?
We automate lead routing, onboarding, notifications, document work, approvals, reporting and data movement. We also build n8n workflows, APIs and webhooks that connect CRM, messaging, payments, calendars, forms, databases, cloud storage and AI platforms.
Do you offer technology strategy, product discovery and systems audits?
Yes. We can research the problem, validate a product idea, prototype a first version, assess an existing technology setup, plan architecture and integrations, or produce a practical technology roadmap before development begins.
Can you support and improve our technology after launch?
Yes. Website Care covers monitoring, security, updates, backups and fixes. Development retainers reserve time for ongoing improvements. Digital Partner is a broader external-technology-team relationship covering strategy, development, systems, AI, automation, infrastructure and priority support.
Do you offer branding, logo design, video editing or motion graphics?
No. Laccino Digital is focused on technology services. Our design work supports websites, software, products and business systems. Branding packages, logo design, video production, video editing, motion graphics, 3D animation and social-media creative packages are outside the Laccino Digital service catalogue.
Which technologies do you use?
We choose tools for the problem, running cost, data rules and the team that will maintain the result. Depending on the project that can include WordPress, Next.js, React, mobile frameworks, PostgreSQL, Supabase, n8n, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, Firecrawl, payment services and messaging platforms.
Can you add AI or automation to how we already work?
Yes. We can add AI assistants, knowledge search, document processing and agent workflows to existing systems, then automate the movement of work between email, CRM, invoices, payments, messaging, documents and approvals.
Do you build online shops and payments?
Yes. We build product catalogues, customer accounts, carts, checkout, card and mobile-money payments, order workflows and e-commerce automation. We can build a new store or improve and integrate an existing one.
Can you help us decide what to build before we build it?
Yes. Technology gets expensive when it is chosen without a plan. We look at your goals, budget, users, team and future plans before recommending anything.
AI and automation
What kind of AI work do you do?
Practical AI inside real work: assistants that answer from your own documents and policies, tools that draft, sort or summarise routine text, and automation that moves information between the systems you already use. We start from the task and the people doing it, not from a model, and recommend AI only where it saves real time or improves an outcome.
What does an AI or automation project cost?
AI solutions usually cost $1,500 to $15,000 or more, and business automation $1,000 to $15,000 or more, in USD and excluding VAT. AI agents for calls, WhatsApp, Telegram or web chat have a setup fee and a monthly fee, starting at $1,200 setup and $350 a month for a website chat agent. Usage such as AI model, call and messaging fees is billed at provider cost, and we estimate it in the written scope.
What happens to our data when AI is involved?
We send an AI model only the information a task needs, keep access keys on your side, and tell you which provider processes what. Where information is sensitive or regulated, we say so in the scope and design around it, which can mean keeping some data away from AI altogether. How your project data is handled is set out in the signed agreement for that project.
Can AI give wrong answers, and how do you handle that?
Yes. AI can be confidently wrong, so we design for it: answers are grounded in your own approved content, the tool says when it does not know, people review anything that matters before it goes out, and we test with real questions before launch.
Will AI replace our team?
That is not the aim. We use AI to take repetitive work off people so they can spend their time on the parts that need judgement. Any change to how people work is planned with you, and your team is shown how to use and check what we build.
Which AI models and tools do you use?
We choose for each project, based on the task, running cost, data rules and where your users are, rather than committing to one provider. The assistant on this site, for example, runs on Anthropic’s Claude. The choice and the reasons for it are written into your handover, so you are not locked in.
SEO and AEO
What is SEO, and is it part of a website build?
SEO, search engine optimisation, is the work that helps people find you through search engines. The sites we build start with the technical basics in place: fast pages, clear structure and headings, page titles and descriptions, a sitemap and a layout that works on phones. Deeper work, such as keyword research, analytics and ongoing content, is available as SEO and analytics setup.
What does SEO cost?
SEO is scoped as part of a website project. Ongoing basic SEO maintenance is included in the Growth care plan at $325 a month. A larger SEO programme is quoted after we look at your site and goals.
What is AEO?
AEO, answer engine optimisation, is about being the source that AI assistants and answer features draw on. Tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews answer questions directly instead of only listing links, so the aim is for your content to be clear, trustworthy and easy for them to read and cite.
How is AEO different from SEO?
They share the same foundations: useful content, sound structure, fast pages and a site search engines trust. SEO aims to rank a page in a list of results. AEO aims to have your information used in a direct answer, which rewards plainly stated answers to real questions, structured data that labels what each part of a page is, and facts about you that are consistent across the web. We plan the two together.
How do you make a site easier for AI answers to use?
We give each common question a clear, direct answer on the page that should own it, add structured data (schema.org markup, like the FAQ markup on this page) so machines know what they are reading, keep facts such as services, prices and locations consistent, and make sure the site is fast and open to crawlers.
Can you guarantee first place on Google or in AI answers?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Search engines and AI tools decide what to show, and they change how they decide often. What we commit to is the work: a technically sound site, clear content and structured data, and measurement so you can see what is improving.
How long before SEO or AEO shows results?
Technical fixes can show within weeks, once search engines have visited the site again. Visibility built on content and reputation usually takes months. We set up analytics at the start, so progress is measured rather than guessed.
